Alaska Seafood Processing Leadership Institute

Congratulations to Jimmy and Larisa Prokopeuff for their acceptance to the ASPLI program! They recently returned from their first trip with the program, a visit to the Boston Seafood show. Jimmy and Larisa were accepted to ASPLI in December. The program consists of three trips with the group of 8 or 9 other Alaskans that work in a seafood processing facility. They travel to the Boston Seafood show, Kodiak and Anchorage. They learn about seafood markets, processing technology, product forms, quality, safety, regulatory issues, HR, logistics and getting hands on management of a seafood plant. The program is designed to educate young Alaskans as they become leaders in the seafood processing industry. We are very excited to have both Jimmy and Larisa in the program this year!

Jimmy, I am so glad you and Larisa are in this program. I hope you have lots of fun in Kodiak and learn lots of new stuff. I look forward to hearing about your Koidak trip when you get back. This is a great learning opportunity as you increase your leadership and management roll at Atka Pride and Bering Pacific Seafoods. Also Angela is very impressed with you and Larisa and your knowledge and leadership skills. She is really happy you are both in the program. I'm glad you are part of our team and thanks for leaving a comment about your Boston trip!
