Alaska Seafood Processing Leadership Institute

Congratulations to Jimmy and Larisa Prokopeuff for their acceptance to the ASPLI program! They recently returned from their first trip with the program, a visit to the Boston Seafood show. Jimmy and Larisa were accepted to ASPLI in December. The program consists of three trips with the group of 8 or 9 other Alaskans that work in a seafood processing facility. They travel to the Boston Seafood show, Kodiak and Anchorage. They learn about seafood markets, processing technology, product forms, quality, safety, regulatory issues, HR, logistics and getting hands on management of a seafood plant. The program is designed to educate young Alaskans as they become leaders in the seafood processing industry. We are very excited to have both Jimmy and Larisa in the program this year!
